AI Carbon Signals – Current Intelligence

Current external signals from renewable carbon, microbial fermentation, SAF, biomethane, water, minerals and circular industrial systems. Curated by Syngas Project to track the market moving towards AI Carbon.

Europe wakes up to the TMF (Targeted Microbial Fermentation) the global fermentation race

Europe is beginning to understand that fermentation is not only about food. It is becoming a strategic industrial technology for fuels, chemicals, materials and future manufacturing. This supports the Syngas Project view that microbes are industrial workers, not laboratory curiosities.

Bioleaching Returns to the Forefront of Sustainable Copper Mining

Growing demand for copper and critical minerals is driving renewed interest in microbial bioleaching as mining companies seek to recover metals from lower-grade ores, tailings and historic mining waste. Advances in microbiology and biotechnology are improving the commercial potential of biological metal recovery, supporting a more circular approach to mineral production.

Why it matters: Copper is essential for electrification, renewable energy and AI infrastructure.
